The Olivine pools boast thunderous waves that crash on a volcanic rock barrier that gather in natural tide pools. It is located in a rugged spot in a remote area that has no sandy beaches or easy water access.
There’s no sign naming Olivine Pools, just a small patch of dirt where you park(lock your vehicles and take your valuables!), and a thin steep trail snaking its way through the pastures that comes to an end at a bluff. It is located between mile marker 15 and 16. There are warning signs posted as this area can be very dangerous due to the elevated winds and strong surf. Plan your visit on a calm day for the best experience.
